Engineering leader. Team builder. Lifelong student.

I’ve spent 25 years building software and the teams that build it. From early J2EE platforms in Colombo, through 16 years scaling cloud and microservices at Rezgateway, to the last three building agentic AI in production. I lead engineering at Madgicx. I advise Eat-2-Grow as Chief Tech Advisor. I teach Aikido. I am a Christian, a husband, and a father.

CURRENTLY

CTO at Madgicx — Leading engineering on an agentic AI platform that runs Meta ad campaigns autonomously. Team distributed across Ukraine and Dubai.

Chief Tech Advisor at Eat-2-Grow — Built the donation platform; advising on the tracking and factory systems that have delivered 170,000+ nutrition bars to communities in need.

5th Dan, Aikido Hombu Dojo — Three decades on the mat. I teach, run seminars, and travel to learn.

Christian — The center that holds the rest. I write openly about it.

Husband and father — The part of life that outlasts the career.

WHERE I'VE BEEN

Late 1990s — Beginnings.

Started as a software engineer at SasiaNet in Colombo, building J2EE platforms and hardware monitoring systems. Alongside the day job, I taught — three years as a senior lecturer at London Business School Colombo, lecturing in programming languages, software development, and network engineering. Builder and teacher from the start.

2001–2010 — Coming up.

Senior software engineer at E-technology Solutions, then Head of Technology at Reservations Gateway, leading 50+ developers on the systems that connected major GDS networks (Amadeus, Saber, Galileo) to thirty-plus content aggregators. Got my MBA in International HR from Mahatma Gandhi University along the way.

2010–2024 — Sixteen years at Rezgateway.

Head of Technology, then CTO. Led the company’s full cloud transformation — migrated the flagship product suite to cloud-native microservices, scaled to 200M+ hits per day, cut costs by 40%. Drove the adoption of mobility, IoT, big data, and security frameworks. Spent the back half deep in client digitalisation roadmaps and engineering culture.

December 2024 — All-in on AI.

Joined Madgicx as CIO, then CTO a year later. Now leading the engineering org behind an agentic AI platform that runs production ad campaigns for thousands of brands. Also Chief Tech Advisor at Eat-2-Grow, building humanitarian infrastructure on the side. Rebuilding what engineering leadership looks like when the team includes both humans and models.

A FEW THINGS I BELIEVE

01 Building things that matter. Tech is the cheapest part — what you choose to build with it is everything.

02 Engineers grow when they are trusted, challenged, and protected. In that order.

03 The way you do the work is the work. Process is character.

04 A career is long. So is a family. So is a faith. Prioritise accordingly.

05 Mastery is showing up the day after you no longer have to.
